The artist Robert Leckey attended my school and helped us to compose our own pieces of artwork. He brought in some of his own pieces and shared with us his techniques. We were encouraged to select our favourite landmarks – I chose London.

Over several weeks Robert supported us to create our masterpieces in preparation for our school art exhibition.

Commenting on James’s artwork, the artist Robert Lecky said

“The Thames embankment is also one of my favourite inspirational scenes to paint.

In his version James has captured real drama with his use of vivid colours for the sky,  achieved by applying acrylic paint with rollers in a dynamic way.

Clearly James like me enjoys experimenting with techniques and materials to create interesting and eye catching results in his art work”
